Yankees star Aaron Judge was scorching hot in August, and he was rewarded for it with the American League Player of the Month award.
In 26 games last month, Judge slashed .389/.530/.865 with 12 homers, six doubles, 24 RBI, and 21 runs scored.
Judge is on pace to finish the season with 60 home runs, which would be just shy of his previous career high of 62 in 2022 -- when he broke the record for most home runs in a season by an American League player that had been held by Roger Maris (who hit 61 in 1961).
Overall this season, Judge is hitting .326/.459/.711 with 51 homers and 124 RBI in 136 games.
He is leading MLB in homers, RBI, walks, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS+, and total bases.
Judge is expected to win the AL MVP award over Bobby Witt Jr., who is having a tremendous season for the Kansas City Royals.
