Yankees manager Aaron Boone recently discussed how he's been staying in touch with his team amid the coronavirus pandemic and what his thoughts are regarding the various scenarios under consideration for the resumption of the season.

"Kind of like the winter. Text messages, have even FaceTimed with a couple of guys," Boone said Tuesday night during an interview with ESPN's Scott Van Pelt. "We did a Zoom call. That's big these days, obviously, the Zoom call. We had a team Zoom call. We were doing organizational things where we were going through player objectives, so that kept us busy for a few weeks.

"It's been good. I feel like guys are in a good spot, and hopefully when we do get that call to go, I feel like our guys are in a pretty good spot to be ready to hit the ground running."

As far as the ideas the league is discussing for what would be a shortened and different-looking season in 2020, Boone said he is "certainly hopeful" one of them will come to fruition.

SNY's Andy Martino reported Tuesday that there are as many as 15 plans currently being explored, with various officials working hard on all of them.

"In a few weeks," one source told Martino, "they'll go with the one that makes the most sense at that time."

Boone, who is currently at home in Connecticut, is looking forward to what he hopes will be one of those plans getting approved.

"It seems like as more time goes off the clock and every day, obviously, hopefully, is bringing more information, more opportunity," he said. "It does seem like maybe more plans are becoming feasible. We just have to see how the next days and weeks play out, and hopefully we can have as (Tim) Kurkjian said, the best of those bad plans. I think a lot of us, and I know a lot of sports fans, would love to see -- some way shape or form -- us back and performing and I can't wait."
