The Yankees, as well as the rest of the league, will be selecting for the future in Day 1 of the 2019 MLB Draft.

Taking place at the MLB Network studios in Secaucus, N.J., teams will be on the clock to kick off the first and second of 40 rounds.

Day 1 of the Draft isn't just the first round. Instead, it is comprised of several rounds that follow this order:

First Round
Compensation Picks
Competitive Balance Round A
Second Round
Competitive Balance Round B
Compensation Picks

As for the Yankees, they will have three picks on Day 1. Their first round pick is No. 30 overall, but they do have a pick in CBA A at No. 38 thanks to the Sonny Gray trade with the Reds. They'll finish their day at No. 67 in the second round.

This year, experts believe the Yankees will have third baseman on their radar. Players like Tulane's Kody Hoese, Florida high schooler Tyler Callihan, and Texas high schooler Brett Baty are among potential picks.

Also, Al Leiter's son, Jack Leiter, is an ace out of Delbarton School in New Jersey. The Vanderbilt commit could hear his name called by the team that draft his father back in 1984.
