Manny Machado's dad is adding some more intrigue to his son's free agency.

Machado has at least been offered a seven or eight-year deal by the White Sox, but the elder Machado told Hector Gomez of Z101 Digital on Friday that the Phillies, Yankees and even Dodgers have all made offers to his son.

And while the White Sox appear to be the strongest suitor at the moment, Manuel hinted his son could still sign elsewhere.

"I believe that the team you will probably less think about is the one that's gonna sign Manny Machado," he said.

The Yankees, while not totally "out," have been disengaged with Machado's camp for a couple of weeks, opting to sign infielders Troy Tulowitzki and DJ LeMahieu instead.

So they certainly could be considered a team many are thinking less about and SNY's Andy Martino reported that the contract structure the White Sox are discussing could offer a roadmap for the Yankees to re-enter talks.

Martino also reported earlier this week that there is more than one unidentified team still pursuing Machado and Manuel's quote could also be interpreted as a "mystery team" landing the free agent.

While Martino did not speculate on who that mystery team could be, we know Machado's wife loves New York and perhaps there is still an outside shot the Mets could be that team to swoop in and surprise everyone.

Whatever the elder Machado meant, there still seems to be a glimmer of hope for the Yankees, and even the Mets.
