At running back, the Giants needed all hands on deck for Week 4's pivotal matchup against the Redskins.

Without second-year starter Saquon Barkley, who suffered an ankle injury last Sunday during Week 3's 32-31 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York turned to several next men up with Washington on deck.

Led by third-year pro Wayne Gallman, three running backs answered the call as the Giants (2-2) took care of business against the winless Redskins (0-4) with Sunday's 24-3 win at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

"I was going to show everybody that, even though (Saquon) is out, I'm Wayne and I can do whatever it takes to win," Gallman said.

Gallman took 18 carries for 63 yards and a touchdown while catching six passes for 55 yards and a score, doing his best Barkley impersonation as he totaled 118 yards from scrimmage on 24 touches and found the end zone twice.

"Saquon's Saquon, but I'm me and it's all about just feeding off of each other," Gallman said, whose two touchdowns -- a six-yard reception with 8:45 left in the first quarter and a one-yard run with 12:01 left in the second quarter -- fueled the offense in Barkley's absence. "So when Saquon comes back and we go back to the original rotation, I'll always be prepared, so I'm always ready."

Third-year pro Eli Penny (three carries, 12 yards) and rookie Jon Hilliman (10 carries, 33 yards) rounded out the Giants' 164 yards on 37 carries, including five for 33 yards from rookie quarterback Daniel Jones, who improved to 2-0 as the starter ahead of Week 5's 1 p.m. kickoff next back at home Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

"All I feel is energy from my teammates," Gallman said. "We all want it and we just want to be better. So next week, I can only picture how much better we get next week."
