Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell was in the house at Citi Field on Wednesday night, and if his NBA career doesn't end up working out, he could potentially pick up a career in baseball.
Mitchell, who averaged 23.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game last season, took some confident swings inside the cage, met with Mets' players, and even took some infield work at first base.
Named to the 2017-18 All-Rookie team, Mitchell has family ties to the Mets, as his father, Donovan Mitchell Sr., serves as the team's Director of Player Relations and Community Engagement.
