With 47 home runs and counting, Pete Alonso is the Mets' new single-season home run king.

Prior to this season, that title was held by both Todd Hundley (1996) and Carlos Beltran (2006), who each hit 41.

On Friday, Hundley was in attendance at Citi Field, and had the opportunity to speak with Alonso prior to the game against the Dodgers.

"It's awesome. It's a lot of home runs, and obviously he's still going," Hundley said about Alonso. "He's just an all-around good hitter."

"Records are made to be broken."
