On Monday night, the Rangers traded forward Vlad Namestnikov to the Senators in exchange for defenseman prospect Nick Ebert and a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.
On Tuesday, head coach David Quinn and general manager Jeff Gorton reacted to the trade.
"We feel like we've got guys who are going to be able to assume a little bit more responsibility throughout our organization," said Quinn.
"He's a good player."
"We wish him luck," said Gorton. "But at this time it's a move we felt we had to make and thought we had some depth to take care of it and the cap room helps us going forward."
