Noah Syndergaard saved his best fastball for after Wednesday's game.
The flame-thrower was asked following the Mets' 2-1 win against the Astros about his thoughts on the football Giants trading Odell Beckham Jr. to the Browns.
"He's special. I don't know what the Giants are doing. We'll find out," Syndergaard said.
Syndergaard said he doesn't have a football allegiance, but he might root for Beckham's new team because of its quarterback, though he mixed up his sports while offering praise.
"I like Baker Mayfield, honestly. I like the way he competes and his mentality out there on the mound," Syndergaard said before laughing, quickly realizing his error. "Not the mound, on the field. So maybe I'll be a Browns fan."
When the Patriots were brought up, Syndergaard said, "Well the Browns have sucked for such a long time, you can't help but to root for them."
