After spending his first four seasons with the Mets, catcher Kevin Plawecki was traded to the Cleveland Indians in January 2019.
Entering 2020, Plawecki, now 28 years old, finds himself with another new team in the Boston Red Sox.
On Wednesday, Plawecki spoke about starting a new season with a new team, and also discussed how he's handled what the Red Sox have gone through this offseason since Alex Cora was fired for his involvement in the Astros' scandal.
"I don't pay attention to background noise anymore. Fifth year now, that's all it is, background noise," said Plawecki. "You can't really worry about it, can't think about it, because there's nothing you can do about it. It's been a little bit of a different offseason, but at the same time we're here, and I'm excited. I'm ready to go."
