The Los Angeles Clippers, selecting for the Nets in a proposed trade, took PG Jaylen Hands from UCLA with the No. 56 pick in the NBA Draft Thursday night.

Hands joins the Nets via the Clippers after Brooklyn traded its 27th overall pick to Los Angeles earlier in the draft.

The 19-year-old showed significant improvement his sophomore season at UCLA, leading the Pac-12 in assists (201) and assists per game (6.1) and was second-team All Pac-12.

He also led UCLA in steals (44) and free throw percentage (.780).

Hands joined Georgia foward Nicolas Claxton as Brooklyn's two draft picks.
