UConn head coach Geno Auriemma will not coach the team against Oklahoma on Sunday after undergoing a minimally invasive procedure to alleviate symptoms caused by diverticulitis, the school said Thursday in a press release.
According to the team, Auriemma is "in good spirits and is resting comfortably" and will remain at UConn John Dempsey hospital for the next two-to-three days before heading home to continue recuperating.
In Auriemma's absence, associate head coach Chris Dailey will serve as head coach against Oklahoma.
UConn is 9-0 this season, including 1-0 in conference play.
