Francisco Alvarez, Ronny Mauricio, and Matt Allan were all listed among Baseball America's top 100 prospects.
Alvarez, a catcher, ranked 48th, while the infielder Mauricio and the right-handed pitcher Allan were ranked 65th and 98th, respectively.
Alvarez seems to be the heir to the throne when newcomer James McCann's four-year deal comes closer to an end. For now, the 19-year-old's estimated MLB debut will come in 2023, according to MLB.com. With Low-A Kingsport and High-A Columbia, he combined for a .312 average and a.917 OPS, belting seven home runs in 42 games in 2019.
Mauricio's MLB debut may come sooner than anticipated after the Mets traded Amed Rosario and Andres Gimenez for Francisco Lindor, a deal where despite getting elite talent, lost infield depth. The 19-year-old slashed .268/.307/.357 in 116 games with Columbia in 2019.
Allan, also 19, was widely regarded as a steal, but also a risk due to a commitment to Florida, when he was drafted. The 2019 third-rounder posted a 2.61 ERA and a 12.9 K/9 in six games (five starts) between Kingsport and Brooklyn in 2019.
