Noah Syndergaard was none too pleased about his teammates' travel situation before Thursday's home opener.

After the Mets lost to the Nationals, 4-0, Syndergaard took issue with the circumstances the club was in having to play a night game in Miami on Wednesday before playing their home opener Thursday at 1:10 p.m. Additionally, random drug testing delayed the Mets' trip home Wednesday night.

"Losing doesn't feel good, but I don't think we were in a proper situation to win a ballgame based on the rest of the guys' sleep and travel," said Syndergaard, who traveled home ahead of the Mets since he was starting Thursday.

He said the situation gets under the Mets' skin, and had reasonable suggestions for what the schedule-makers could have done.

"Tonight (for the home opener) or a day game yesterday. That would've been nice," Syndergaard said.
