The Giants saw Sterling Shepard return to the lineup in their 19-14 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 12. The team's top target missed the past five games for the G-Men, and the team's Week 11 bye is factored into that time off as well.
Upon returning, Shepard had six touches which included five catches for a lowly 15 yards.
Shepard will want to improve upon that as the season grinds on, but the 26-year-old said on Monday that he's feeling fine after missing time due to his second concussion of that year, adding he's not worried about any long-term effects.
"It was all good things," Shepard told reporters in regard to his health moving forward. "Long term stuff is out of the picture. That's all I wanted to hear ultimately."
I just kind of want to move on and put that in the past," he added. "That's all I want to focus on moving forward, I don't even want to think about that."
While Shepard could be in the clear, his return was overshadowed by some bad news for the Giants. Receiver Golden Tate suffered a concussion himself in Week 12. It occurred on his impressive touchdown catch.
If Tate is slated to miss time, Shepard's health becomes all that more important throughout the remained of the year.
Quarterback Daniel Jones also said on Monday that he was impressed with Shepard in his return, even placing some of his yardage issues on himself.
"I thought he played well. I think I can do a better job giving him a few more chances, but I thought he played well and definitely good to have him back," Jones said.
