The Mets will hold a third round of managerial interviews this week, with Eduardo Perez, Tim Bogar and Carlos Beltran among those getting another callback, according to multiple major league sources.
Those are not the only candidates who are coming back for the third round.
Luis Rojas is not believed to be in the mix any longer.
As with all aspects of this process, we do not pretend to have a complete list. The Mets are not confirming any interviews, and reporters are gathering what we can.
But we have heard that the team is taking a long look at Perez and Bogar. The former in particular is said to have hit it off with Brodie Van Wagenen. Bogar's experience managing in the minor leagues has helped make him a serious candidate, and his Mets ties don't hurt.
People familiar with the situation have become more skeptical of Beltran's chances, but he's still in at this late stage, making him a serious candidate.
A decision is not likely for several days.
