Ten-time All-Star and free agent forward Carmelo Anthony has been participating in informal team workouts and scrimmages with Brooklyn Nets players in Los Angeles recently, per SNY sources.

Anthony, who played 10 games with the Houston Rockets last season before being released, said last week in an interview on First Take that he and his representatives have been in touch with several teams, including the Lakers and Clippers, about potentially signing a contract for the coming season.

It is unknown if the Nets are one of the teams that Anthony and his representatives have talked to about a potential signing. The club's interest level in signing Anthony to a contract is also unknown.

Anthony, of course, played parts of seven seasons with the Knicks -- Brooklyn's cross-town rival.

The Nets have gathered in Los Angeles for informal workouts recently. Nets guard Caris LeVert said on ESPN's The Jump earlier this month that new Net Kyrie Irving organized the workouts.

If they were interested in signing Anthony, the Nets would need to waive a player to sign the 35-year-old to a traditional NBA deal. Brooklyn has 15 players under guaranteed contracts.

As SNY reported in June, the Knicks may have had interest in a reunion with Anthony if they had a roster with multiple stars, such as Kevin Durant and Irving, ready to win immediately.

That didn't come to fruition, as Durant and Irving signed with Brooklyn. So New York hasn't had significant interest in bringing Anthony back for the coming season.
