Amid the NBA's announcement that the season has been suspended, SNY's Ian Begley says one source in touch with a Knicks player said the mood among the team is "surprised, worried, but like everyone else, hoping for the best."
Utah Jazz C Rudy Gobert tested positive for coronavirus, which led to the NBA's announcement. Because the Knicks played the Jazz last Wednesday night, sources confirmed to Begley that players were under the impression they would be self-quarantined.
The Knicks are not the only teams to self-quarantine after learning about Gobert's contraction of the virus. According to SI's Chris Mannix, the Raptors -- who were playing in Utah on Monday night -- were all tested for coronavirus. The team has been told to isolate themselves for the next two weeks.
Knicks interim head coach Mike Miller said the club would listen to its medical professionals before determining the next steps. The Knicks remained in Atlanta after their game against the Hawks, as their immediate travel plans were unclear.
In the league's statement, it was said the NBA will "use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic."
