Nets forward Kevin Durant was seen running -- even almost sprinting -- for the first time since rupturing his achilles back in June during the NBA Finals as a member of the Golden State Warriors.

Durant, who tore his achilles in Game 5 against the Toronto Raptors, was seen running with a football at the Nets' practice facility on Tuesday in Brooklyn. He also managed to throw a pass across the court after the run.

The two-time NBA Champion and Finals MVP signed a four-year, $164 million deal with the Nets this past offseason, but is not expected to play at all this season. Durant's contract includes a player option in the final year, so it's technically possible that Durant only plays in Brooklyn for the next two seasons if he decided to leave there after.

In Durant's absence this season, the Nets sit at 22-27 and are currently sitting in the No. 7 seed in the eastern conference.

Kyrie Irving, who also signed a four-year deal with the Nets this past summer, leads the Nets with 27.4 points and 6.4 assists per game this season. However, Irving has only appeared in 20 games this year after suffering multiple injuries.
