The Gerrit Cole negotiations, once thought to be likely to drag into January, wrapped up on Tuesday night when the Yankees exerted their financial might and blew the other competitors out of the water.
With Cole on board for nine years at $324 million, the Yankees have added one of the best pitchers in baseball to a team that has been trying to get over the hump of the ALCS.
