Braxton Berrios stole the hearts of Jets fans in recent weeks, but he won't get another chance for more highlight reel plays this season.

After head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Friday that it was "not looking good" for Berrios to play Sunday, the Jets placed him on injured reserve as he deals with a quad injury.

Saleh said the Jets had to make a decision on Berrios "sooner than [they'd] like."

In the last two weeks, Berrios scored three touchdowns -- one rushing, one receiving, and one on a kick return -- while accumulating 310 all-purpose yards. Berrios will become a free agent in March.

"Pains me more than you know not to be out there finishing with this team!" Berrios tweeted. "What a year of growth and incredible memories, can’t wait to root my brothers on as they finish strong Sunday! Jets Nation you’re awesome"

Saleh also said it is "trending south" for rookie receiver Elijah Moore, who is also dealing with a quad injury. Moore has not played since Week 13, where he had six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Moore started to take off before the injury.

In his last six games, he has caught 34 passes on 51 targets for 459 yards and five touchdowns.

George Fant and Connor McGovern also had their seasons cut short, but Saleh said he expects both of them to be ready for OTAs, as they will undergo "cleanups" on their knees.
