After a successful outing with Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, it seems the Mets are expecting to have Reed Garrett back in the bullpen soon.

Speaking with the media prior to Wednesday's game against the Rockies, manager Carlos Mendoza was asked about Garrett, and the first-year skipper came away pleased.

"Came out feeling good. There’s a good chance he could meet the team in Seattle," Mendoza said.

Garrett pitched a scoreless inning on Tuesday, giving up a hit and a walk but striking out three batters. In two rehab games -- one with Syracuse and the other with Binghamton -- the right-hander has pitched 1.1 innings, allowing three runs, five total hits, two walks and striking out four batters.

The Mets will wrap up their series in Colorado on Thursday afternoon before heading to Seattle for a three-game set with the Mariners. If Garrett comes away from his appearance on Tuesday well physically, we'll see if the Mets are ready to bring him back.

As for Sean Reid-Foley, another injured reliever, he pitched for Syracuse on Wednesday. In his inning of work, the right-hander gave up two hits and one walk while striking out two batters.

Reid-Foley who was placed on the IL back in late June with a shoulder impingement, does not seem to be as close to returning as Garrett.

In five appearances across Brooklyn, Binghamton and Syracuse, Reid-Foley has allowed five runs on five hits, and seven walks in 3.1 innings pitched.

When asked if he wants to see better results from his reliever, Mendoza said it's more than that.

“[We want to see] A little bit of everything. Results and how he’s feeling after each outing," Mendoza said. "It comes down to how he’s feeling the next day. We might want to see a back-to-back or maybe a 2-out-of-3 or one-plus [innings] out of him because he’s been dealing with this [injury] all year.

"We want to make sure he’s 100 percent and the ability to bounce back is important too."
