The Rangers are signing winger Oliver Bjorkstrand and center Joe Veleno to one-year deals, per multiple reports.

The deal for Bjorkstrand, 31, will be for $4.5 million, and could see the right wing get time on New York's power play team. The $1.2 million deal will see Veleno likely compete for time as the Blueshirts' fourth center.

Bjorkstrand scored 12 goals and dished out 20 assists in 80 games for the Tampa Bay Lightning last season, while averaging 13:38 time on the ice. He was a minus-14, scoring nine of his goals on the power play.

The former third-round pick began his NHL career with the Columbus Blue Jackets before he spent time with the Seattle Kraken, where me made his lone All-Star Game during the 2023-24 season, when he had 20 goals and 39 assists.

In 704 career games over 11 seasons, he has 416 points (184 goals, 232 assists) and is a minus-53 while averaging 15:26 time on the ice. He is a workhorse, playing 77 games or more in seven seasons.

Veleno, 26, appeared in 61 games last season for the Montreal Canadiens. He tallied just five points (two goals, three assists) and was a minus-12 while averaging 12:05 time on the ice.

He played the first four seasons in Detroit, after the Red Wings made him their first-round pick (30th overall) in the 2017 draft. Detroit sent him to the Chicago Blackhawks in March 2025.

Overall, in his 367 career games across six campaigns, the 6-foot-1 forward has 40 goals and 46 assists and is a minus-77 while averaging 12:54 time on the ice.

Veleno got his first taste of playoff hockey last season with the Canadiens, appearing in nine games (of their 19-game run) with an 8:47 average ice time. He tallied one assist and was a minus-one.

In a minor move, New York added defenseman Marc Del Gaizo on a two-year, two-way deal. The 26-year-old, with 55 career NHL games to his name, has tallied 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) in his 919 career minutes on the ice.
