Max Scherzer, Nationals

Last start: Battled through five innings against the Braves, allowing three runs on seven hits to the Braves on Sept. 13.

Trending: DOWN, with two non-quality starts in his last three outings. Scherzer is running out of time to make his case, especially after missing starts in both July and August.

Mike Soroka, Braves

Last start: Brilliant over six innings against the Nationals, holding Washington scoreless and allowing just one hit.

Trending: UP, with a great start against the Nationals, the 21-year-old leads the National League with a 180 ERA+.

Hyun-Jin Ryu, Dodgers

Last start: Allowed three runs on six hits while walking four and striking out five in 4.1 IP against the Rockies on Sept. 4.
