After NFL players approved the new CBA by a narrow vote of 1,019-959, the NFL sent out memos to teams that the free agency schedule will go on as planned, with negotiations between teams and players open to begin Monday at noon.

Additionally, teams will have until 11:59AM Monday to place either a franchise or transition tag on a player before the official start to free agency.

The league year start remains as scheduled, with the official signing period beginning on Wednesday at 4PM.

Despite NFL sources telling SNY's Ralph Vacchiano that the leagues has some concerns with looking "tone deaf" setting up billions of dollars worth of contracts while the coronavirus continues to spread across the world, it looks like the show will go on.

But according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the NFL said that it was, in fact, the NFLPA that did not allow for the league year to be delayed, because no football activity was going to be done -- just signing deals and working remotely, as most of the country is doing.

Multiple league sources tell Vacchiano that the driving force behind the decision to start free agency on Monday was that the NFL didn't know how long to delay it. There were too many unknowns, and the NFL and NFLPA weren't certain things in the world would be better a week, two weeks, or a month from now. They figured that since it was logistically possible to hold free agency, they were better off doing it now, before things got worse.
