Tiz The Law entered the 152nd Belmont Stakes as the heavy favorite, and he delivered with a dominant win on Saturday.
Tiz The Law, whose final odds were 4-5 (meaning you would win four dollars for every five dollars you placed on the horse), became the first New York-bred horse since Forester in 1882 to win the Belmont Stakes. He started the day at 6-5 odds, and then moved up to 4-5 as the start of the race approached.
His final official time was clocked at 1:46.53
DR Post (7-1) finished in second, while Max Player (14-1) finished in third.
Due to the coronavirus, the Belmont Stakes was the first leg of the Triple Crown races to run this year, with the Kentucky Derby scheduled to take place 11 weeks from now.
