Things to know about Wednesday's game
1) As has often been the case this season, D'Angelo Russell led the way for Brooklyn by putting up 27 points, 11 assists and six rebounds. He shot 10-for-23 from the field including 6-for-9 from 3-point range. The All-Star guard's double-double was his sixth of the season, which is a career-high. This marked the second time in his career Russell had at least 25 points and 10 assists; he did it on Jan. 23 against the Magic.
2) DeMarre Carroll had one of his best games of the season, going off for 18 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and four steals. The six assists matched a career-high, and they all came in a first half -- at the end of which the Nets held a 72-60 lead. Carroll was 10-for-13 from the free-throw line, setting career-highs in free-throw makes and attempts.
3) The Nets (29-27) did a great job moving the ball as a team as they had a season-best 36 assists. Russell and Shabazz Napier (11 assists) became the first pair of Nets to each register at least 10 assists in a game since Deron Williams and Shaun Livingston did it on Dec. 20, 2013 against the 76ers.
4) Nikola Jokic gave the Nets fits all night as he put up a triple-double with 25 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Former Net Mason Plumlee scored 24 points on 10-for-12 shooting.
5) Brooklyn was terrific from long range, converting 19 of 34 3-point attempts (55.9 percent.) Treveon Graham went 4-for-6 from deep and had 16 points. Joe Harris went 3-for-6 from 3-point range and had 17 points. Six Nets had at least 15 points.
6) Allen Crabbe (knee) played for the first time since Dec. 12 and had five points, three assists and a steal in 13 minutes off the bench. The return of Crabbe along with Caris LeVert's progression recovering from his foot injury will provide the Nets a boost as they seek to solidify their playoff position.
