The Nets have two rising stars on their roster.

Second-year center Jarrett Allen and rookie forward Rodions Kurucs were both named to the NBA's Rising Stars Challenge on Tuesday.

Allen, 20, will play for the U.S. team while Kurucs, who turns 21 next week and is a native of Latvia, will play for the World in the exhibition game on Friday, Feb. 15 to kick-start the NBA All-Star weekend.

The rosters are chosen by NBA assistant coaches, who submit one ballot per team and must have a minimum of three first-year players and three second-year players on each team.

Allen, who did not make the team last year as a rookie, has established himself as defensive force this season, ranking 12th in the NBA with 75 blocks this season. His 163 career blocks are the most for any Nets player before turning 21.

Allen's most noteworthy block came early this season when he stuffed LeBron James at the rim in a win over the Lakers at the Barclays Center.

He is also averaging 11.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game this season and leads the team with 16 double-doubles.

Kurucs, who was drafted 40th overall in the second round of the 2018 NBA draft, is averaging 9.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 20.7 minutes per game.

He ranks first among international rookies in free-throw percentage (.904) and is fourth in points per game, trailing lottery picks Luka Doncic, Deandre Ayton and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander -- all of whom will join him on the World team.
