New York's 'Numbah One' -- Mike Francesa -- talked with SNY on Monday about the Mets' chances this season. And he went off on Noah Syndergaard a bit.

Syndergaard made waves on Sunday when he sounded off on the contract situation of Jacob deGrom ("I just think they should quit all this fuss and pay the man already"), and criticized the team's late spring training travel schedule

On Monday, Francesa talked about those comments during an interview with SNY's Jonas Schwartz.

"Noah Syndergaard is a guy that they're looking crooked at now. He's become a prima donna," Francesa said, before suggesting Syndergaard is the new Matt Harvey when it comes to a personality rubbing the Mets the wrong way."

"In one ear, out the other," Francesa added about Syndergaard calling for the Mets to pay deGrom. "What player doesn't want another player to make money?"

About the Mets' chances in general, Francesa thinks "they're a winning team." The question, he said, is whether they are "an 82 or a 92" win team.

"Clearly, they brought in some guys who have really solidified things," Francesa said, talking about Robinson Cano and Wilson Ramos.

And Francesa's keys to the Mets season? "Is (Brandon) Nimmo for real, can (Michael) Conforto give them a real good season, and what do you get out of the kids -- (Jeff) McNeil and (Peter) Alonso?"
