The Eli Manning/Hall of Fame debate will rage until he either makes it or doesn't when he hits his first year of eligibility, but one of Manning's former teammates tried to end the debate on Friday.

Speaking after Manning's retirement press conference, Plaxico Burress -- who caught the game-winning touchdown from Manning in the waning moments of Super Bowl XLII when Big Blue took down the undefeated Patriots -- had some thoughts.

Asked about anyone who thought Manning only "might" be a Hall of Famer, Burress was blunt.

"Might, my ass," the former receiver said. "He's a first ballot Hall of Famer to me. The quarterbacks are in the Hall of Fame with less."

Brandon Jacobs, who was one of Manning's most reliable running back options during his career, was similarly blunt.

"They should be out of a job," Jacobs said about voters who think Manning shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame.

Eli's brother, Peyton, recently weighed in on the debate as well.

"He answered the bell, played his butt off, won some huge games for his team, Peyton Manning said. "I have strong opinions on it, but I'm gonna pull an Eli and live in the present and kinda look back if you will and not look too far ahead, get too worried about it."
