Who is starting for the Mets?
LHP Steven Matz (4.03 ERA/4.68 FIP, 1.241 WHIP in 145 innings) will get the start for the Mets in the series finale. Matz gave up just two hits in five innings his last time out and did not allow a run. He struck out four batters, walked five, and threw 91 pitches -- the fewest he had thrown in nearly a month. Matz's last outing against the Natioanls came on Aug. 26 when he gave up just one run in seven strong innings.

Who is starting for the Nationals?
RHP Erick Fedde (5.02 ERA/4.25 FIP, 1.442 WHIP in 43 innings) will pitch for Washington. He will face the Mets for the first time this season in what will be his third straight outing against an NL East opponent. Fedde struck out batters in 4 1/3 innings against Miami in his last start, but prior to that, he had pitched at least five innings in six of his last seven outings.
