The Mets' system got a boost with their terrific Draft in April but took a serious hit when they traded pitching prospects Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods Richardson to the Blue Jays for Marcus Stroman. Here's how the top prospects are performing...

Andres Gimenez, SS, Double-A Binghamton -- ETA 2020

Gimenez remains mundane out in Binghamton, going 3-for-20 with a double and an RBI this past week. He is only hitting .239 on the season (95 games), but has a .306 OBP with 23 walks and 12 hit by pitches to boot.

Ronny Mauricio, SS, Low-A Columbia -- ETA 2022

Mauricio found himself a hot streak this week, collected three multi-hit games in three straight. That streak was snapped on Saturday in an 0-for-3 performance, but the shortstop went 7-for-23 with a homer and four RBI coming on Aug. 9.

This stretch brought Mauricio's numbers to .286/.324/.384 with four homers and 33 RBI on the season thus far.

Mark Vientos, 3B, Low-A Columbia -- ETA 2021

Vientos owns a nice four-game hit streak after this week, going 6-for-21 with a homer, three doubles, and four RBI. The left side of that Columbia infield is very solid with the lumber right now, as Vientos has been hot at the plate recently.

Over 102 games this season, Vientos has a .265/.313/.436 slash line with 12 home runs and 60 RBI.

Shervyen Newton, SS, Low-A Columbia -- ETA 2022

Newton had a decent week, going 6-for-21 with a double and home run coming on Aug. 9. He had three RBI in that game as well. The 20-year-old continues to get his average up, with it moving to .214 over the week.

David Peterson, LHP, Double-A Binghamton -- ETA 2020

Peterson was rock solid in his performance on Aug. 9. He allowed just one hit and no runs while walking two and striking out three in five innings of work. Since returning from injury, Peterson is still trying to work his way back to six and seven-inning outings, and this is certainly good progress.

He has a 4.14 ERA and 3.37 FIP over 95.2 innings (20 starts) this season.

Thomas Szapucki, LHP, High-A St. Lucie -- ETA 2021

Szzpucki has been doing well this season, but he was banged up in his last start. He only lasted three innings, allowing seven runs (five earned) on seven hits over that span.

At the moment, though, this should be viewed as a blip in Szapucki's season. It is the most runs he's allowed all season, having let up five in his previous four starts combined. In High-A ball he still has a 3.96 ERA and 2.80 FIP thus far.

Brett Baty, 3B, Rookie level Kingsport; Josh Wolf, RHP, Rookie level GCL; Matthew Allan, RHP, Rookie level GCL

The three most highly-regarded players the Mets took in the MLB Draft in June -- Baty (first round, No. 12 overall), Wolf (second round, 53rd overall), and Allan (third round, No. 89 overall) -- will all likely be on any future versions of the Mets' Top 10.

Baty is 5-for-23 in his last six games, as he is still getting acclimated to a higher level of rookie ball. He's only hitting .180 in 28 games with Kingsport.

Wolf lasted just one inning in his start on Aug. 5, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits. However, he followed it up on Sunday with a solid two innings where he allowed just one hit while striking out three.

Allan hasn't thrown since Aug. 4, where he allowed just one run on three walks.
