Pete Alonso ripped his second home run of the game in the 8th inning to put the Mets ahead for good in their 5-3 win over the Marlins. Chris Bassitt went seven strong but was hurt by the long ball, allowing home runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Brandon Nimmo's RBI double in the ninth provided some insurance and Edwin Diaz struck out the side to close out the victory.
