Five things to know about Monday's game
1) Entering in a 4-4 game, Diaz retired the first two hitters before his first-pitch fastball to Winker was sent 415 feet to right field. Diaz had retired all 15 left-handed batters he faced before Winker homered.
2) The Mets went down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the ninth when Raisel Iglesias struck out the side, as the Mets fell to 14-14.
3) The Mets went 2-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left 10 runners on base. Pete Alonso struck out with two runners on to end the eighth, and Michael Conforto grounded out with the bases loaded to end the fourth.
4) Zack Wheeler allowed four runs, seven hits and three walks in six innings in a no-decision. After allowing four runs in the second inning, Wheeler retired seven of the last nine batters he faced.
5) The Mets scored twice in the fourth inning on a Wilson Ramos RBI double and an Amed Rosario RBI single. They tied the game at 4 in the bottom of the fourth when Alonso and Brandon Nimmo drew back-to-back bases-loaded four-pitch walks.
