Two starts might be all that Taijuan Walker has to miss, as the Mets starter felt great coming out of his simulated game on Monday in St. Louis.

Walker went four innings, tossing 64 pitches and used his entire repertoire as he tested his aching right shoulder. He has been dealing with bursitis in the shoulder that forced him to miss some time.

"I threw everything, my velo was really good," Walker said, adding that his fastball was around the 92-94 miles per hour range.

What's the next step? If Walker recovers fine from this sim game, he said that he should be good to go for his return to the rotation some time this weekend, a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citi Field.

In his absence, David Peterson has been stepping up and pitching well. He owns a 0.64 ERA through 14.0 innings so far this season.
