The Mets (67-63, 11.5 GB in NL East, 2.0 GB for second Wild Card) start a very important three-game series with the Chicago Cubs (69-61, 3.0 GB in the NL Central, 1.0 GA for second Wild Card) on Tuesday night at 7:10 p.m. at Citi Field on SNY.
Mets Notes
The Mets look to get back on track, after losing three straight at home for the first time since July 3-5. The team has still won 13 of its last 17 home games and own the best second-half winning percentage in the majors at .675 (27-13). Wilson Ramos will try to continue his 19-game hitting streak, which is the longest active streak in the MLB. Todd Frazier will bat 8th in the lineup tonight, as Juan Lagares will be on the bench. Shortstop Amed Rosaio is second in the NL with a .348 batting average since the All-Star break, while J.D. Davis is seventh in the NL with a .345 average since the break as well.

Who is starting for the Mets?
RHP Marcus Stroman (7-11, 3.18 ERA) left his last start on Aug. 21 against the Indians after just four innings due to left hamstring tightness. He has struck out 18 batters to go along with a 4.58 ERA over 19.2 innings with the Mets, but has only gotten one win. This will be the second time in his career that the righty has faced the Cubs... throwing his first career complete game shutout against them on Sept. 8, 2014 as a member of the Blue Jays.
Who is starting for the Cubs?
RHP Yu Darvish (4-6, 4.43 ERA) became the first pitcher in MLB history to have five straight outings with at least eight strikeouts and zero walks. He gave up six earned runs over 5.1 innings in his last outing against the Giants, earning the no-decision. Darvish hasn't earned a win since Aug. 4, when he struck out eight and allowed just one earned run over 5.0 innings against the Brewers.
Upcoming schedule
