Mets prospect Drew Gilbert returned to the Syracuse Mets lineup for the first time since April on Tuesday night and picked up a hit in the team's 7-6 loss to Buffalo.

Gilbert finished 1-for-5, his only hit a single against former MLB starter Aaron Sanchez in the third inning. But after missing so much time with a hamstring injury, the Mets are glad to get one of their top prospects back in Triple-A.

In seven games with Syracuse this season, Gilbert is now 6-for-25 with a home run, two RBI and two walks.

Before his return to Syracuse, Gilbert reported to the team's Florida Complex for a few games. In six games with Low-A and High-A, Gilbert was 1-for-15 with an RBI and two runs.

Gilbert, the Mets' No. 3 prospect according to SNY's Joe DeMayo, slashed .289/.381/.487 over 116 games with 18 homers, 26 doubles, 12 stolen bases, 79 runs scored, and 59 RBI across two minor league levels last season for the Houston Astros and Mets.

Brett Baty continued his torrid hitting down with Syracuse, going 4-for-5 with a pair of home runs. In 35 games in Triple-A this season, Baty is hitting .289 with 11 home runs and 31 RBI.

Luisangel Acuna went hitless (0-5) with three strikeouts and is now hitting .263.

Blade Tidwell started Tuesday's game and did not factor into the decision. He went four innings (74 pitches/45 strikes) giving up four runs (three earned) on three hits, two walks while striking out seven batters.

The Syracuse Mets continue their series with Buffalo on Wednesday at 1:05 p.m.
