The Polar Bear will be donning the red, white and blue for Team USA during the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

MLB announced Wednesday that Mets All-Star 1B Pete Alonso will be participate in the WBC. 

Alonso joins fellow 1B Paul Goldschmidt, OF Mike Trout, OF Bryce Harper, C J.T. Realmuto, SS/2B Trevor Story and 3B Nolan Arenado as those that have committed to Team USA. Every team is made 28 players (13 pitchers and 15 position players).

Team USA was put in Pool C to face off against Canada, Colombia, Mexico and a fifth team that will need to qualify in an event this fall.
