Alonso joins fellow 1B Paul Goldschmidt, OF Mike Trout, OF Bryce Harper, C J.T. Realmuto, SS/2B Trevor Story and 3B Nolan Arenado as those that have committed to Team USA. Every team is made 28 players (13 pitchers and 15 position players).
Team USA was put in Pool C to face off against Canada, Colombia, Mexico and a fifth team that will need to qualify in an event this fall.
