After a rough three-day stretch from the Mets' starters, Luis Rojas has no regrets.

Surely, Rojas could not predict Jacob deGrom would only go two innings before leaving with a hamstring spasm. Nor could he predict Seth Lugo giving up back-to-back-to-back home runs after a 2.65 ERA in his previous four starts.

And even with Steven Matz struggling on Friday, Rojas trusted his gut, and his arms.

"We trust everyone here. There's been a lot of work put together from the coaches' standpoint, from the pitching coaches to the pitchers, all the players here, they put a lot of work in. We trust every plan, every decision that we've come with as far as our starters," Rojas said.

The rotation has struggled, outside of deGrom, for a good portion of the season. Losing Noah Syndergaard to Tommy John surgery and Marcus Stroman opting out due to concerns of the coronavirus pandemic certainly did the Mets no favors.

But plenty of moves were made to salvage that, like bringing up David Peterson and Franklyn Kilome, and moving Lugo into the rotation after being a superb reliever in 2019.

"It's really tough just to go back and try to take off what we did. There's some things that we can definitely learn from, and we've made some adjustments along the way, but right now it's where we stand, and this is where we want to be right now. We want to be focused on this day and keep winning games starting tonight again," Rojas said.

And as for deGrom, he's all good.

"He just threw a side, full-steam side," Rojas said. "I talked to him and he said 'I'm good. I'm good...' He's good to go, and he's lined up for Monday."
