Steven Matz gave the Mets yet another rough outing Saturday against the Phillies, when he allowed six runs on five hits and three walks over his 4.1 innings of work.

Manager Luis Rojas was not ready to say Sunday that Matz would take his next turn in the rotation.

"We haven't spoke to Matz yet or anyone about the particular start yesterday and break it down for him," said Rojas. "Last night was another tough outing, something that we definitely want to break down. As a staff, we spoke a little bit, but once we address Matz, we talk to Matz, we can definitely share with you guys where Matz is standing."

The Mets, outside of Jacob deGrom and David Peterson, are looking for some sort of depth in the rotation -- especially since Marcus Stroman tore his calf and then opted out of the season due to coronavirus concerns. Walker Lockett has made a start, and Robert Gsellman will take the ball Monday in Miami against the Marlins.

Michael Wacha is also on the injured list with shoulder inflammation, hurting the Mets' rotation depth even further.

But Rojas said Wacha been "feeling good."

"He's been progressing accordingly, and responding well to the treatment," Rojas said of Wacha. "The plan for him was to throw a side today, and we'll see how that went."
