The Mets moved three players to minor league camp, the club announced Wednesday. New York optioned RHP Corey Oswalt, while LHP David Peterson and RHP Pedro Payano were reassigned.

Oswalt, 26, made 19 appearances (12 starts) with the Mets in the past two seasons from 2018-19. He went 3-4 with a 6.43 ERA in 71.1 innings pitched, striking out 50 while walking 26.

His 2020 spring training included three games, going 0-1 with a 1.13 ERA in eight frames, striking out six while walking zero and scattering two runs (one earned) on eight hits.

The 24-year-old Paterson, the Mets' No. 20 overall pick in the 2017 MLB June Amateur Draft from the University of Oregon, is the club's No. 10 overall prospect and fifth-ranked pitcher. He appeared in three spring training games, starting one, going 1-0 and sporting a 1.50 ERA with one run on five hits and six strikeouts to three walks through six frames. His 2019 season with Double-A Binghamton featured a 3-6 record and 4.19 ERA in 24 starts over 116 innnings, striking out 122 while walking 37.

Payano, 25, was signed Dec. 12 by the Mets to a minor league deal. He spent his 2019 season between the Texas Rangers and the club's minor league affiliates, Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Nashville. With the Rangers, Payano was 1-2 and had a 5.73 ERA in six games (four starts) over 22 innings, striking out 17 while walking 15.

Through four Mets spring training appearances, spanning 5.1 frames, Payano was 0-1 with a 4.76 ERA, allowing three runs on four hits and recording three strikeouts to four walks and one hit batter.
