Mets fans, time to circle some Spring Training dates on your calendar, as the team released its schedule to kick off the new year.
Here's how it all breaks down:
- Feb. 10: Pitchers and catchers report
- Feb. 12: First workout
- Feb. 14: Position players report
- Feb. 16: First full team workout
- Feb. 22: First game
It will be a split-squad game to kick off the Spring Training schedule in the Grapefruit League, with the Cardinals and Marlins facing the Mets. The first home game in Port St. Lucie will be against the Cardinals on Feb. 23.
A full month of tune-up games will determine who makes the 26-man roster before the Mets head to Flushing to begin their 2020 regular season. And they will have to face the 2019 World Series champions and division rival Nationals at their home park.
