Before he started the second chapter of his MLB career with the Mets for the 2019 season, LF/3B J.D. Davis spent the previous two years in the Houston organization.

With the Astros' sign-stealing scandal, which surfaced after the season and triggered an ongoing MLB investigation, questions remain about who knew what and when.

Asked about whether or not he knew of the Astros' alleged sign-stealing philosophy while with the team from 2017-18, Davis pointed directly to his numbers over those two seasons.

"I wasn't aware of anything and even if I was, even if there was, I wish I would've known because I batted only like .180, .200 or something like that," Davis said Wednesday at Citi Field during the Mets' kids holiday party Wednesday. "But I really have no idea or no clue."

Through 66 games in two years, Davis slashed .194/.260/.321 with five home runs and 12 RBI. In fact, he spent most of his time in the minors, playing for the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks and the Triple-A Fresno Grizzilies.

As the MLB investigation continues, Davis -- who has not been contacted by the league -- is eager like anyone else to find out what is uncovered about how the Astros allegedly operated.

"I have no idea," said Davis, who slashed .307/.369/.527 with 22 home runs and 57 RBI in 140 games during a breakout year for the Mets. "Sure, I was surprised about it, but I really have no idea. I was kind of like the freshman among the seniors and everything. I really had no idea what was going on or what's really happening, but that's an MLB investigation. I haven't gotten any calls yet."
