The Mets (56-56, 9.5 GB in NL East, 2.5 GB in Wild Card) aim to sweep a doubleheader against the Miami Marlins (42-68, 22.5 GB in NL East, 15.5 GB in Wild Card) in the second game of a four-game series on Monday at Citi Field on SNY starting at TKTKT.

The Mets are looking for their fifth-straight series win vs. the Marlins. ...The Mets' victory earlier on Monday brought the team back to .500 for the first time since May 28. ... New York's .727 winning percent since the All-Star break in the best in the majors. ... Amed Rosario's .350 batting average in July was the fourth-best in the National League and he has continued to flourish at the plate, homering in the first game of a 2-for-5 day on Monday. ... Jeff McNeil hit his 14th home run in the first game on Monday and now has seven in just 22 games since the All-Star break after hitting seven the entire first half.

Who is starting for the Mets?

LHP Walker Lockett (1-1, 7.82 ERA) who is making his first start since July 20. Lockett tossed five innings of one-run ball against the San Francisco Giants, holding them to just five hits while striking out three in his first career win. 

Who is starting for the Marlins?

RHP Sandy Alcantara (4-10, 4.54 ERA) who has not recorded a win since June 21. ... Alcantara has pitched against the Mets three times this season, going 1-2 with a 3.48 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 20.2 innings. His last outing against the Mets, July 14 at Citi Field, Alcantara was tagged for four runs on nine hits over six innings in a 6-2 loss. 

Upcoming schedule

The Mets will return to action on Wednesday behind RHP Zack Wheeler (8-6, 4.45 ERA) while the Marlins will send RHP Jordan Yamamoto (4-2, 3.94 ERA) to the mound for the 7:10 p.m. game at Citi Field on SNY.
