The Mets weren't done making moves Sunday, as they announced a deal that sent C Kevin Plawecki to the Indians.

Plawecki goes to Cleveland in exchange for RHP Walker Lockett and minor league INF Sam Haggerty

With the addition of Wilson Ramos, the Mets had four catchers on the roster, including Travis d'Arnaud, who was tendered a contract earlier this offseason. In turn, Van Wagenen needed to get a catcher off the roster, and the team was "getting a lot of hits" from other teams on Plawecki, per SNY's Andy Martino.

The 27-year-old played 79 games for the Mets last season, slashing .210/.315/.370 with seven homers and 30 RBI. He missed significant time in the beginning of the season with a broken left hand that left the Mets very thin at catcher with d'Arnaud out for the season with a partially torn UCL.

Looking at the Mets' end of the deal, Lockett was just sent from the Padres to the Indians in November, and will now move further east. The 24-year-old made a brief appearance in the bigs last season with four games in San Diego. He spent most of his time, though, in Triple-A where he pitched to the tune of a 4.73 ERA over 133.1 innings (23 starts).

Haggerty played in Double and Triple-A last season, owning a .239/.369/.384 line with four homers, 21 doubles, and 39 RBI.

This is the second move the Mets have made today, with INF J.D. Davis coming over from the Astros via trade. The Mets also traded for CF Keon Broxton with the Brewers, while signing LHP Hector Santiago on Saturday as well.
