Mets pitcher Carlos Carrasco underwent surgery on Tuesday to remove a bone fragment from his right elbow.

The surgery, which the Mets termed “successful,” was performed by team physician Dr. David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. Carrasco is expected to resume baseball activities later this winter.

Carrasco, 34, was 1-5 with a 6.04 ERA in his first season with the Mets, after missing significant time with a hamstring injury. The team acquired him last winter in the trade that brought them Francisco Lindor from Cleveland.
