Following the Mets' 10-2 loss to the Cardinals on Saturday, the Mets called up LHP Daniel Zamora from Triple-A Syracuse and sent down the day's starter, RHP Chris Flexen.

Zamora will work as extra bullpen help for New York. The lefty has appeared in five games with the Syracuse Mets this season, pitching to the tune of a 1.80 ERA over five innings.

The 26-year-old had a very brief stint with the Mets in 2018, where he owned a 3.00 ERA over nine innings of work.

Flexen made the spot start in place of the injured Jacob deGrom this afternoon, and didn't have the day he hoped for. The big righty allowed 7 runs, six earned, on seven hits over 4.1 innings of work.
