The Mets' Triple-A to the majors bullpen revolving door moved again on Wednesday, with the team sending Hansel Robles to Las Vegas and recalling Chris Flexen.

Robles got roped around the ballpark on Tuesday night at Coors Field, allowing two runs on three hits (including a home run), while walking three and striking out one in 1.2 innings. He has a 5.03 ERA and 1.58 WHIP this season, and has served up seven home runs in 19.2 innings this season. He also struggled badly last season.

Flexen had a 7.88 ERA in 48.0 innings with the Mets last season, and allowed seven runs (three earned) on eight hits in 2.0 innings during his only appearance this season.

Maybe Robles turns things around at some point and maybe Flexen becomes more than a mop-up guy, but at this point, it makes sense for the Mets to try someone different.

24-year-old Drew Smith, who was acquired from the Rays last season for Lucas Duda, has a 3.00 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 28 strikeouts in 30.0 innings (21 appearances) this season for Las Vegas in the hitters haven that is the Pacific Coast League. He also excelled last season for Double-A Binghamton, with a 1.80 ERA and 0.87 WHIP.

For his minor league career, Smith -- who was a third-round draft pick of the Tigers in 2015 -- has a 2.02 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 191 strikeouts in 174.0 innings across four seasons.

In order to call him up, the Mets would need to add him to the 40-man roster, which is currently full. However, a spot can be cleared by moving AJ Ramos (out for the season) to the 60-day DL.

Coors Field isn't the best spot for a debut for any pitcher, so maybe that's why the Mets are waiting on Smith. But they'll be back at Citi Field on Friday. And still in need of relief help with upside.
