Is this what redemption looks like for Mark Sanchez?

Taking his first NFL snaps since Jan 1, 2017, the former Jets QB came in for the Redskins Monday night against the Eagles after Colt McCoy left the game with a season-ending leg injury in the second quarter.

And it didn't take long for Sanchez to inadvertently put a new take on the most infamous play of his career.

Six years after his unforgettable "Butt Fumble" with the Jets, Sanchez lost a fumble in Philly but remarkably was able to recover it while being tackled by collecting the ball with his legs and pressing it against his derriere.

Crisis -- and further unrelenting embarrassment -- averted. Despite the butt fumble recovery, Washington ultimately lost the game, 28-13 to drop to 6-6 on the season. Sanchez finished 13-of-21 with 100 passing yards and an interception.

Predictably, the social media reactions to "Butt Fumble Part 2" were many.
