Former Mets prospect Anthony Kay (traded in the Marcus Stroman deal) made his major league debut for the Blue Jays this past weekend, and it looks like another former Mets prospect will be called up in a matter of days.

Justin Dunn, who was traded along with Jarred Kelenic and others to the Mariners in the Edwin Diaz/Robinson Cano trade, is expected to be called up, according to Greg Johns of MLB.com.

Dunn spent the entire minor league season with Double-A Arkansas, posting a 3.55 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 158 strikeouts in 131.2 innings (25 starts).

If the 23-year-old Dunn makes his big league debut this season, he will be doing so without having pitched at the Triple-A level.

Kay spent time in Triple-A with the Mets and Jays before making his first start for Toronto on Saturday, after which he took a swipe at how the Mets handled him coaching-wise in Triple-A.

Dunn is viewed by most in the industry as having a higher upside than Dunn, who is seen as a back-end starter.

The other heralded prospect the Mets gave to Seattle -- the 20-year-old Kelenic -- finished the season with Double-A, and there is a chance he will make his big league debut at some point in 2020. If that happens, Kelenic will have gone from high school ball to the majors in roughly two years.
